KATURISMO in Action thru Championing Skills!

On October 26, 2026, the MIS Room of Kidapawan Doctors College Inc. (KDCI) became the venue for an informative and skill-enhancing Point of Sale (POS) System Training, organized and facilitated by SSHOTS Corporation.

This activity was held in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the subject Applied Business Tools, under the guidance of course instructor Sir Leonardo S. Dandal Jr. The training brought together students and faculty members, all eager to learn how modern technology transforms business operations and service delivery.

The program began with a warm welcome and an opening message from Sir JM Saniel, Marketing Head of SSHOTS Corporation. He expressed his appreciation to KDCI administration, the faculty, and the participants for their enthusiastic support.
Sir JM emphasized that mastering a POS system is a vital competency for anyone entering the business, hospitality, or service industries today. He shared SSHOTS Corporation’s vision of bridging the gap between academic learning and industry practices, ensuring that students are equipped with skills that are directly useful in their future careers. His inspiring remarks set a positive and motivated atmosphere for the entire session.

Following the opening, Sir Fred S. Sarco, MBA-HRM, Department Chair, delivered the acknowledgment and opening remarks on behalf of the institution. He extended his sincere gratitude to SSHOTS Corporation, Sir JM Saniel, and the resource speaker for generously sharing their time, expertise, and resources with the students. Sir Fred highlighted the importance of such collaborative training programs between educational institutions and industry partners, noting that these experiences significantly boost students' confidence and readiness for the workplace. He also encouraged the students to value the opportunity, participate actively, and make the most out of the knowledge they would gain during the session.

The core training session was facilitated by Sir Sony Costudio, the designated trainer from SSHOTS Corporation. He structured the program into two comprehensive parts: theoretical discussion and hands-on application. Sir Sony started by explaining the fundamental concepts of a Point of Sale system, describing it not merely as a cash register but as an integrated business management tool. He discussed how POS systems streamline sales transactions, manage inventory, generate accurate sales reports, and securely store customer and business data.

He also compared traditional manual recording methods with automated POS solutions, clearly demonstrating how technology reduces errors, saves time, and improves overall business efficiency.
After the lecture, participants proceeded to the practical application phase. Sir Sony guided everyone through the actual system interface, demonstrating step-by-step procedures such as setting up products, processing sales, handling different payment methods, issuing receipts, managing returns or voided transactions, and generating daily sales summaries. He moved around the room to assist participants individually, patiently answering questions and ensuring that everyone understood each function. The students were highly engaged, taking notes and practicing repeatedly until they felt comfortable navigating the system on their own.

The event concluded in the late afternoon with a short closing ceremony. Certificates of appreciation were presented to the representatives of SSHOTS Corporation in recognition of their excellent service and dedication. Sir Leonardo S. Dandal Jr. also expressed his gratitude, noting that the training had successfully met the objectives of the Applied Business Tools subject—helping students understand and operate professional business technology.

Overall, the POS System Training was a highly successful and meaningful activity, providing participants with practical skills and valuable insights that will undoubtedly benefit them in their academic and professional journeys.
