From February 16 to 27, 2026, 21 senior KATURISMO students from Kidapawan Doctors College, Incorporated successfully completed their SOLAS training to kickstart their careers in the cruise line industry. Initiated by Program Head Mr. Fred S. Sarco, this 11-day program at PNTC-Colleges Cavite combined hands-on training and practicum exposure.

Trainees who finish this Basic Training course meet key requirements for the Seafarer’s Identification and Record Book (SIRB/“Seaman’s Book”). They demonstrate competence in personal survival techniques (PST), fire prevention and firefighting (FPF), elementary first aid (EFA), and personal safety and social responsibilities (PSSR).

Partner schools joining us included Laguna Polytechnic State University, Isabela State University, Angeles Pampanga Colleges, Mapua University, South East Asia Unstitute of Trade and Technology, Davao Merchant Maritime Academy College of Southern Philippines and STI Colleges. This marked an excellent start to their careers, equipping KATURISMO students for success in tourism and hospitality, especially on cruise lines.

Congratulations and Mabuhay KATURISMO!
