Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) and Kidapawan Doctors College Inc. (KDCI) College of Nursing have officially started a global partnership aimed at enhancing clinical training for future nursing professionals.This collaboration marks a significant milestone as both institutions work together to provide world-class clinical exposure for students. Through the agreement, KDCI nursing students can now participate in structured clinical rotations at SPMC, one of the largest and most advanced medical centers in Mindanao. The initiative reinforces both institutions’ commitment to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being by improving healthcare education and preparing competent practitioners.
On November 28, 2025, the KDCI College of Nursing, led by Dean Paul Andre A. Lumiguid, formally initiated the institution’s mutual partnership with SPMC. He was joined by the Excelsia Adviser/Clinical Instructor of KDCI-Mr.Mark Arthur Penafiel RN,LPT,MAN, along with SPMC Representative Mark Andrada, RN, MAN, Focal Person for Continuous Professional Development (CPD) for Allied and Medical Professionals/Nurse III of SPMC. Their unified presence demonstrates both institutions’ dedication to nurturing high-quality healthcare education and strengthening professional development opportunities for nursing students. This collaboration supports SDG 4: Quality Education by providing enhanced hands-on learning experiences aligned with global healthcare standards.
KDCI extends its sincere appreciation to the leaders and coordinators of SPMC for their support and guidance throughout the initiation of the affiliation process. Special recognition is given to Chief Nursing Officer Charity L. Mata, RN, MAN, for her leadership in facilitating this partnership. Gratitude is also extended to Dr. Ricardo B. Audan, MD, FPAFP, DPA, CHA, for his support of the collaboration. Their collective commitment, together with the Clinical Coordinator for Nursing Affiliation of SPMC -Jake Francis Align Lao, RN, MN, CHA, FPCHA, FPSQua, reflects a shared vision aligned with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
